As we launch the #DefendCordilleraPH, we invite all indigenous peoples’ rights advocates, kakailian and friends here and abroad to participate to a series of webinars this September to tackle important issues in the Cordillera region.
Starting this week, September 12, 10 AM PH time, we will discuss: “Defend our lands, life and resources”.
“Up to this day, Cordillera indigenous peoples’ ancestral lands continue to be treated as a resource base for profit by the State and private corporations at the expense of indigenous peoples’ self-determination and human rights. More than 100 mining applications covering 978,664.45 hectares of land and more than 100 hydropower and geothermal energy projects remain despite indigenous communities’ opposition if these projects will push through, it will mean the ethnocide of the Igorots and a massive destruction of the environment.”
Catch and learn more during the webinar. English translation will be provided. To register, kindly click this link.
