DON’T LET US CUSTOMS AND BORDER PATROL THROW EXCUSES TO DODGE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR INHUMANE TREATMENT OF JEROME SUCCOR ABA!
As the US Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) continued with its removal proceedings of Jerome at the SFO airport early this morning, ICHRP-US and Jerome’s supporters were undeterred and remained firm in their solidarity actions at the International Arrivals terminal and all over the US.
As Jerome got on the plane back to the Philippines, our spirits are far from dampened. The CBP tells the press the reason for denying Jerome entry to the US is because of a so-called technical glitch on his visa, but we know these are flimsy excuses intended to detract the media and the public from the truth – the CBP violated several of Jerome’s basic rights, especially the right to an attorney, and that subjecting him to 22 hours of detention incommunicado is a form of inhumane, cruel treatment.
ICHRP members across the US and in other countries and our supporters are being called to launch #Justice4Jerome Days of Action in indignation for Jerome’s denial of entry and forced removal from the US on Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20 at Federal buildings, CBP/Department of Homeland Security offices, and US embassies.
Resistance is Our Right!
Solidarity is Our Duty!
